The 2020 Hyundai Elantra GT is a budget-friendly hatchback that comes in two trim levels. These include GT and N Line. Exterior features on the base GT include a chrome and gloss-black front grille, heated and power-operated side mirrors with an integrated drivers-side blind-spot mirror, solar control glass, LED daytime running lights, automatic projector-beam headlights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Options for this trim level include a panoramic sunroof, and turn signal indicators mounted in the side mirrors. With the N Line trim comes unique front and rear fascias, the turn signal indicators as standard, special badges, full LED headlights with a dark inner housing, LED taillights, and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels. If you choose the manual transmission, your Elantra GT will also include a set of summer performance tires.
Engine
Beneath the hood of the GT model is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 150 pound-feet of torque and 161 horsepower. It works with a six-speed automatic transmission. The N Line trim has its own powertrain, which includes a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This unit rates at 195 pound-feet of torque and 201 horsepower. You can choose from a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Performance
When it comes to handling, the 2020 Hyundai Elantra GT doesn't disappoint. Even the less powerful engine is fairly responsive, but the turbocharged unit really delivers a punch when you hit the gas pedal. Safety Features
Every 2020 Elantra GT includes a rearview camera, anti-lock brakes with brake assist, air bags throughout the seating area, and stability and traction control. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and lane change assist are available on the base trim. The R Line is also available with forward-collision alert with pedestrian detection, smart cruise control, lane-keep assist, high beam assist, and a driver attention alert system, which come bundled in an optional package.
